Graphic Art Student Wins Grand Award

| Karen Lee's Graphic Arts Program at MPATC competed in the 2010 M.I.T.E.S competition. Graphic Art student Erya Lucas placed first in the category of screen printing and was honored with the Grand Award. Eyra's project was considered the best overall project among other competitors in the State of Michigan. The award was given to Eyra and Mrs. Lee for excellence in craftsmanship. |

| Students in the Health Occupations classes competed at the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) Regional Leadership Conference at Ferris State University in February. Emily Little (SHS), Danielle McPherson (SHS), and Emma Wheaton (MPHS) competed in Creative Problem Solving and came away with a gold medal. Teams competing in this event are required to complete a written test in the subject area and are given a problem to solve with only 30 minutes to prepare for their presentation to the judges. Emily, Danielle, and Emma have qualified to compete in the same event at the state level at Grand Traverse Resort in Traverse City, MI April 15-17. |

On Wednesday, March 10, 2010 MPATC inducted 72 students into the National Technical Honor Society. Students were nominated by their instructors and had to meet the following criteria: a combined academic and technical GPA of 3.0 or higher, exemplary attendance, ability to follow instructions, safety awareness, ability to work well with others, dependability, responsibility, honesty, good attitude, ability to work in a team, and good leadership skills.
